You're right. It's a problem with my python install :(
Researching now, but as I use Slackware's default python package this likely 
means that yokadi doesn't work on a unmodified Slackware 12.2 *grml*

Have you seen the other bugs in my last mail as well? There was one with 
assigning non-existing keywords and one with trying to create a project that 
already exists.

I keep you posted on the readline issue.
